Craig Anderson’s goaltending was superb in a low-scoring NHL game between the Panthers and the Sabres. Both goaltenders were dominant in the first period, which resulted in no goals being scored, at all. The Sabres, on the other hand, got off to a flying start in the second period thanks to a goal by left-wing Jeff Skinner. The second period ended with the Sabres in the lead, 2-0, as center Alex Tuch scored for the Sabres in the 29th minute.

Panthers center Carter Verhaeghe scored his first goal in the 49th minute of the third period as his team made a comeback attempt. But this didn’t deter the Sabres’ goalkeeper; he stopped every Panthers shot from that point on, stopping 53 in all. The game finished 1-3, with the prey soundly defeating the predator. Following the game, Sportsnet posted on their Facebook page about the goalie’s performance, sending supporters into a frenzy.

An Ottawa Senators supporter came into the comment section to appreciate this record, saying, “If Ottawa’s gunna go for anyone Andy would be the man for stability between the pipes until the young pups are completely ready!” One fan said nostalgically, “Still remember his 52 save shutout (I believe) for Colorado against the sharks in the playoffs.. the sharks ended up scoring on themselves on purpose in overtime just so they could go home.”

The Buffalo Sabres are really proving themselves this NHL season. One user concurred, stating, “He had a great game. Buffalo is really exciting to watch.” Another, looks surprised at how Anderson performed, despite being an old player, saying, “This dinosaur still breathing lol I was saying the other week back ..used to think he was good he’s still good at 41 playing still.
