Anthony Beauvillier was traded to the Vancouver Canucks on January 30 for Bo Horvat. The trading of the Canucks’ captain to the New York Islanders was a major letdown for Canucks supporters. Fans never showed any animosity towards Beauvillier, instead cheering him on every time he took to the ice, despite their dissatisfaction with the club’s management.

In the post-game interview, Beauvillier shares, “No I mean, I owe them everything. They’ve been so good to me ever since I got here and um it was great I mean just the people reaching out from uh since I got traded to this Ovation today it was something special that I’ll never forget for sure.”

He claims that the Canucks’ fans do a great deal each game to keep him motivated. It was his first goal with the Canucks, and he says the arena went absolutely wild when he scored. He owes his success at the club to the support of the people, and for that, he is always grateful.

The Canucks and the Islanders had a tough game. The game was a true contest throughout, with both teams giving excellent effort. When the Islanders took control in the second period, the Canucks responded with a ferocious third period. The Canucks were so determined to win that not even Bo Horvat’s goal against his old club could spoil their mindset.

Elias Pettersson scored a pair of goals in quick succession in the third period when things were looking bleak. To top it all off, Anthony Beauvillier scored a goal to put the Canucks up two goals. And Noah Dobson’s goal in the final minute of the game didn’t make any difference as the Canucks won the game, 6-5, ending the Islanders’ unbeaten run.
