The Boston Bruins are in the midst of a spectacular season in the NHL. The team has won four straight games after tonight’s 3-1 drubbing of the Ottawa Senators. David Pastrnak scored the tie-breaking goal in the second period as the squad was having trouble tonight. Pastrnak, also known by his nickname ‘Pasta’ has been a right winger with the Bruins since the 2014–15 season. The Czech ice hockey star has been on a rampage this year. With 41 goals under his belt, he’s on the verge of setting a new single-season scoring record for himself.

The official National Hockey League Instagram account shared a post recognizing the seasonal record of 40 goals. The Bruins supporters wasted no time rushing to the comments section to express their approval of Pasta’s season-long performance.

David Pastrnak made it difficult for the Senators

Both teams came out firing, trying to score but being stopped by the opposing goaltenders. The game’s opening goal was scored by the Bruins, who are currently ranked top in the Eastern Conference. In the last seconds of the first period, though, Ottawa Senators forward Claude Giroux scored an equalizer. With a tie at 1, both teams were under severe duress.

David Pastrnak, playing on the right wing for the Bruins, scored a powerful shot in the last two minutes of the second period with an assist from Charlie McAvoy. By the conclusion of the second period, the Senators were down 2-1 and under increasing scrutiny.

Pasta scored again in the third period, and McAvoy had a major part in that goal by fooling the Senators with a pass fake. Pasta wasted no time putting the puck in the goal after McAvoy left the puck in his possession after the fake pass, bringing the score to 3-1. The Bruins extended their winning run with a 3-1 victory against the Senators.

Seeing their team at the top of the Eastern Conference had to be the finest feeling ever for Bruins supporters. They didn’t waste any time getting to the Instagram comments to congratulate Pasta on his 40th and 41st goals of the season. Here are some to prove it.

This fan talks about the fake pass by McAvoy, saying, “That move was kinda nasty.” Another fan also appreciated the teamwork involved to get the win confirmed for the Bruins, saying, “That is one of the craziest moves I’ve ever seen.” One fan, hopes Pasta to break his own seasonal record as they say, “Guys gunna finally get 50.” One fan had the perfect French phrase for the NHL star, saying, “PASTA la vista.”
