For the Boston Bruins, Jake DeBrusk is a crucial cog. Currently holding the top spot in the Eastern Conference with 103 points, the team has been putting on a show all NHL season long. Changes to the team’s present lineup might potentially throw off their rhythm. After all, the Bruins left winger has appeared in 45 games this season, contributing to the team’s success with 19 goals and 18 assists. In fact, the Edmonton Oilers were put under a lot of strain early on in their game because they knew exactly who they were up against.

Louie DeBrusk, a current Sportsnet sideline analyst and announcer, was at TD Garden to see his son and the Boston Bruins game against the Edmonton Oilers. As reported by BruinsInsider, he said, ”Kid’s pretty shaken up. He doesn’t stay down too often like that … been dealing with little bit of an injury in the upper body, looks like it catches him right in that spot. Why do I want to drop the gloves with Ekholm right now.”

Nonetheless, despite avoiding collision, DeBrusk did participate in the game, skating for a total of 15 minutes and 28 seconds and making one goal attempt. Here is how the game went.

How was the NHL game between the Bruins and the Oilers?

The Bruins and the Oilers had an intense game on the ice. Brad Marchand, the Bruins left winger, scored within the first five minutes, and David Pastrnak, the Bruins’ right winger, scored in the first period’s final seconds to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead against the Oilers. Nevertheless, in the 31st minute, Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard scored a goal for his team. There was not much contribution from either side during the second period.

Oilers forward Ryan McLeod scored in the 47th minute of the third period to tie the game. This stoked the Oilers’ fire, and with four minutes remaining, defenseman Darnell Nurse scored the game-winning goal, bringing the visitors within a goal of a victory by a score of 2-3 and ending the Bruins’ ten-game winning streak.
