Lacrosse is a sport that isn’t new to the Great One. During his childhood, Gretzky used to be an avid lacrosse player. Back in 2021, Gretzky was seen enjoying the sport, in a video shared by the official Twitter account of the NHL. “There’s nothing Wayne Gretzky can’t do…”, said the post. The tweet divided fans, with critics lashing at the Great One for not being able to coach in the NHL.

Some fans argued that even after a great NHL career, Gretzky wasn’t able to coach properly in the sport.

Is the great one good at Lacrosse?

When Wayne Gretzky was a child, lacrosse was one of his favorite sports, alongside ice hockey. Lacrosse is a pretty popular sport in Canada, where Gretzky was born and raised. The Great One also once decided to invest in the sport as he saw his childhood favorites rising in popularity back in 2021.

Eight months ago, the National Lacrosse League (NLL) added its 15th expansion team in Las Vegas, known as the Desert Dogs. This team’s investors were none other than the Great One, alongside his daughter’s husband, and pro golfer Dustin Johnson. They were also joined by co-investors Steve Nash and Joe Tsai, who are helping them with their venture.
