The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Colorado Avalanche had a competitive game on Wednesday. The Penguins’ centre, Jeff Carter, showed a lack of sportsmanship, with 14 minutes remaining before the end of the third period. Carter went right away and barged into Avalanche’s defenseman Cale Makar. Hockey fans didn’t take the NHL star’s inappropriate behaviour lying down. No penalty was given for Carter’s excessive hit, therefore fans were also dissatisfied with the referee.
Jens95, a YouTube channel, shared a clip of this dreadful hit by Jeff Carter. With a title as “Jeff Carter Gets A Nasty Cheap Shot In Against Cale Makar,” it’s clear that even the Penguins’ supporters aren’t delighted with their player’s act of poor sport.

None of the sides agree on this unnecessary hit by the NHL star. After taking a blow to the left side of his head, Cale Makar wobbled on the ice. The referees shouldn’t have let go of the situation like that, and the commentators agree.
This fan shared their opinion about this incident, saying, “As a hockey fan first and pens fan second I was actually disappointed to see this. I like Makar a lot and he’s good for the sport, I don’t like seeing guys like him take unnecessary headshots. He also didn’t seem himself after the hit, sad.”
It looks like a fan isn’t happy with the referee’s decision, saying, “That was a huge miss from the Ref, That was dangerous.”
A fan leaves a sarcastic comment that reads, “NHL; we’re trying to protect players from head injuries. Also the NHL;”
Another Penguins fan unites with the others supporting the suspension of Jeff Carter, saying, “As a pens fan, I hope they suspend carter so he doesn’t play 18 minutes a game. (He played 10 this game so hopefully Sullivan learned his lesson)”

“I was sitting in the corner when this happened, I originally thought that he was hit in the face with the puck, but after seeing this, I think that Carter should be suspended for atleast 2 games (pens fan btw)”
“This seems like the sort of thing you fight a guy over.”
“Something I’ve always noticed about Jeff Carter is he’s sneaky dirty. He’s constantly bumping into goalies and stuff like that.”
