“Depressing Times in Hockey”: NHL World Was Left With Disappointment in the All-Star Finals

In the world of NHL, all-star games are the most anticipated games of the season. After today’s performances, the all-star game proved to be fiercely competitive. After the Central Division won 6–4 over the Pacific Division and the Atlantic Division won 10–6 over the Metropolitan Division, the two divisions met in a tense grand final.

The ferocity of the game between the Central and Atlantic divisions was high. Yet the ice rink melted under the weight of the fans’ rage. NHL’s official YouTube channel shared the game’s highlights that made the rage of the fans percolate into their comment section.

NHL fans were just disappointed

Dylan Larkin scored a hat trick, which was one of the most memorable highlights of the game. However, the fans’ disappointment was greater than the intensity of the game itself.

This fan feels disappointed but leaves a positive note for the commentators of the game that reads, “The only real ‘All stars’ here are the commentators for being the only ones actually putting effort in.” Another fan leaves an opinion as they prefer the ordinary NHL games more than the all-star games, saying, “At least it’s over so we can soon get back to proper hockey. I really don’t see the appeal of the weekend, regular hockey is so much more exciting.”

This fan misses the old all-star system, as they say, “Bring back the old school all-star games and skills competitions where the players actually competed and tried to show who’s the best and most skilled…not this ‘we’re here for laughs and smiles’ business…”

This user points out the jersey, saying, “What horrible jersey designs, did we run out of colours because of Covid and had to use the same for each jersey? Brutal.”
