The etiquette of equestrian sports is justified. It’s no surprise that the sport attracts the wealthy and anyone who values the companionship of a horse. Children are particularly drawn to the sport because of their natural fascination with horses. Charlee Hoover, age 4, also just mounted a horse for the first time in an equestrian competition. Due to tricuspid atresia, a congenital cardiac abnormality, it wasn’t always easy for the young equestrian to get in her riding time. The kid, whose heart was transplanted, is also well enough to ride her horse again after saving it from a slaughter truck.

WHSV reported Charlee Hoover’s comeback and her first equestrian competition’s conclusion. Mother Danielle Hoover was very open about her daughter Charlee’s healing process.

When the tricuspid valve does not develop normally, oxygen-depleted blood cannot flow from the right atrium to the right ventricle and hence to the lungs. This is a severe kind of congenital cardiac disease. The Hoovers had to see their sweet daughter suffer an unthinkable destiny, and it was a must. Charlee Hoover, however, underwent a heart transplant in 2022 and is now able to lead a regular life. Charlee’s mom, Danielle Hoover, claims that before the treatment, her daughter “wasn’t physically able to do it” due to the devastating illness.

The little girl rode her rescued horse Snowy on Sunday; she is just four years old. Julie Dunson, owner, and trainer of Sullystone Stables, said the horse was “very sick” with “pneumonia” before being treated, but after recovering, he became a hit with the youngsters. Charlee and Snowy participated in their first equestrian show, and to everyone’s surprise, they won. The competition took place at Keezlenutten Farm. Both the kid and the horse were able to triumph over their own demons thanks to this journey.

According to the WHSV, the child’s mother and her daughter’s journey to this day has been supported by a large group of “cheerleaders”. She goes on to say that without the staff at Sullystone Stables, her daughter’s recovery “would’ve been a real struggle.” With the ability to continue her equestrian studies, Danielle is optimistic that her daughter will be able to have a regular life in the future.
