Only a few weeks remain before the 2023 Kentucky Derby. The Derby is one of the most prestigious equestrian events, and the excitement surrounding it is well-deserved since it is the 149th running of the event. Although the inaugural Derby didn’t take place until 1875, the race has been a yearly tradition since then. The same location has been used for each iteration of this celebration. Churchill Downs is a subsidiary of Churchill Downs Incorporated. Since its inception as a single track in Louisville, Kentucky, Churchill Downs has expanded to become a multi-state, publicly listed firm that includes racetracks, casinos, and an internet gambling company in its portfolio of companies.
