The beauty of horses is the focus of equestrian competition. Both the jockey and the trainer of these amazing animals are trained and recognized athletes. The trainer of a winning horse feels nothing but joy. Surge Capacity is one of the few horses to win a stakes race on his first try. A month after running in its maiden claim race, the three-year-old thoroughbred won a Grade 3 stakes race. On Friday, a new winner and their happy trainer were introduced to the equestrian world at Saratoga’s $175,000 Lake George Stakes.

Surge Victory’s trainer, Chad Brown, reportedly has a net worth of $260,953,134. Brown is a multiple-stakes-winner trainer who has seen it all, but when his young horse, Surge Victory, won the Lake George Stakes (Grade 3), he spoke up about the horse for the first time.

Friday was a tough day for trainer Chad Brown. He tried out for the Lake George Stakes with a full stable of five horses. The equestrian trainer had a hard time getting a good assessment of the course because of the morning’s heavy rains. Surge Capacity, a Flintshire homebred owned by Klaravich Stables, was the most inexperienced horse in the Grade 3 race. On June 10 at Monmouth Park, she made her debut and won the maiden special weight race by 1 1/2 lengths. The young horse shocked the racing world by beating out more seasoned competitors to win the Grade 3 event on Friday.

At 1:38.00, Surge Capacity crossed the finish line on the forgiving track. According to the report by Daily Racing Form, the three-year-old’s trainer, Brown, though, said that he “liked her here” before entering the race. Brown was optimistic about his equine’s chances after she performed well in her maiden claim race a month before. It was her first Grade 3 stakes race, but the trainer “had no feel for this horse” about winning because of Saratoga’s track condition. Brown also mentioned his higher hopes for Tax Implications and Revalita, the two horses who trailed Surge Capacity in the final standings.

The equestrian world was probably taken aback by Surge Capacity’s triumph at the anticipated Grade 3 event since the three-year-old filly’s speed was unexpected.

What really happened at the equestrian event?

At Saratoga, the Grade 3 Lake George Stakes was worth $175,000. Surge Capacity, ridden by Joel Rosario, got out to a good start and then settled into a tight position approximately four lengths behind the early leader, gaining distance on the backstretch as they did so. Surge Capacity remained close to the rail in the stretch, where she had plenty of opportunity to go in front of the frontrunner, Secret Money.

On the last turn, though, Surge Capacity overtook the pack and made it within striking distance of Secret Money. Secret Money and Surge Capacity were neck and neck in the home stretch. However, when Tax Implications entered the stretch, the three-year-old was able to pull away and win for the first time in its career. Following Surge Capacity and finishing in 1:38.00 are Tax Implications and Secret Money. The horse’s total career earnings are now $129,250, thanks in large part to this victory.
