The Triple Crown season has ended with a remarkable accomplishment, but ominous clouds are gathering over Belmont Park. The last leg of the Triple Crown series, the Belmont Stakes, is held at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York, where two unfortunate horses were put to sleep this weekend. On Saturday, after Arcangelo won the Belmont Stakes, the first horse to be euthanized because of an injury was Excursionniste. Following this, Mashnee Girl was put down to sleep on Sunday at Belmont Park before it could finish the race. However, the intriguing similarity between these two horses was the severe injury they both sustained during the competition. The story traveled like wildfire across the equestrian community, and many were understandably upset.

Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, was forced to close a few weeks before the race because of an ongoing problem with dead horses on the course. The equestrian world is in an uproar over the recent deaths of two more horses at Belmont Park. When this story of horse deaths was uploaded on Fox News’ official social media account, hordes of people flocked to the post to voice their concerns.
