Bruce Springsteen is a household name thanks to his decades-long reign as a music industry titan in the 1970s and 1980s. But Jessica Springsteen, the singer’s daughter, is also a global celebrity in her own way thanks to her achievements in equestrian sports. Her most recent success is only the latest example of how much she has improved and expanded her abilities since then.

A few days before the 2023 Kentucky Derby, Mexico hosted the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup. Fans in the States were eagerly anticipating this year’s competition after their country was shocked by not making it to the 2022 Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Finals. However, the fans weren’t let down when KASK Equestrian announced on Instagram that Kent Farrington, Jessica Springsteen, Laura Kraut, and Bliss Heers had won the event.

Another big achievement for the equestrian star

In the championship match, the stakes could not have been higher. The finals included the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Mexico the reigning champion, was not giving the other two teams any breaks. In addition to holding the title, Mexico was a formidable foe since their team had won four of the previous five tournaments, demonstrating their supremacy. There were great expectations for the U.S. squad since three of its four players are Olympic medalists. But on that day, every one of those competitors had a clean round.

Rails from Springsteen and Heers in Round 2 cost the Americans the lead they had built up after Round 1’s four faults. Clear attempts by Garza Perez, Nicolas Pizarro, and Manuel Gonzalez Dufrane from the Mexican side brought the game to a stalemate and ratcheted the tension between the two sides. When it came to the last round, Laura Kraut had a lot riding on her shoulders. In the final two-horse jump-off, she faced Eugenio Garza Perez of Mexico. Kraut and Baloutinue easily beat out Perez and Contago of Mexico, who finished second, by a time difference of 2.7 seconds. As a result, the United States now has 100 points, putting it in the lead for the North and Central America and Caribbean divisions of the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup.
