First Lady Jill Biden, attended Sunday night’s basketball game between Louisiana State University (LSU) and Iowa. The first lady loved the game immensely and was very appreciative of LSU’s victory against Iowa. She also did something quite unusual—she invited both teams to the White House, which is generally reserved for the victorious team exclusively. Unfortunately for the first lady, Olympic athlete Natalie Achonwa did not appreciate her kind gesture.

On Twitter, Natalie Achonwa explained her line of thinking, but was quickly challenged by a skeptic, who was in turn discredited by a response from Achonwa.

Jill Biden was a spectator as LSU beat Iowa 102-85 on Sunday night. A request for information on whether President Joseph Biden will also be invited for a White House visit, and if the visit would be in conjunction with LSU or stand-alone, was not immediately returned by the White House. Coach Kim Mulkey of the victorious LSU team, said after the game that her squad would visit the White House if invited. Both teams were already a hot topic on social media due to the serious moments in the match caused by the conduct of several players towards one another. Angel Reese, a Final Four star for LSU, and Caitlin Clark, a standout for Iowa, were both extensively engaged in this conflict.

Notwithstanding the controversy that has already been stoked over this game on social media, Natalie Achonwa, a three-time Olympian and current WNBA standout, recently shared her thoughts on the Iowa player’s invitation. She mentioned on Twitter, “now Dr. Biden… we haven’t, nor do we need to start, handing out participation trophies now.” However, a naysayer trash-talked her by saying, “You’re Canadian. Stay out of our business.”

Even though Achonwa is Canadian, she has played in the Final Four, which is the last round of the men’s and women’s NCAA Division I basketball tournaments. These are single-elimination tournaments that determine the U.S. national champion. She’s an integral part of the Minnesota Lynx, an American WNBA club. She shut down the naysayer completely by replying, “lol now Brad… you must be new here… but as someone who has played in 4 Final Fours & actually been in that position… runner-up White House visits ain’t it.”
