The largest track and field competition in the United States, Penn Relays, is back after a gap of two years. This edition is expected to be intense, as many elite athletes will take to the track and field across the three days. Joining an already stacked lineup of sprinters is Olympic Medalist Sydney McLaughlin.
The 400-meter hurdler, who set a record time of 51.46 seconds at the Tokyo Olympics, will compete in the 100-meter Hurdles during the Penn Relays 2022.

At the Penn Relays, the women’s 400m hurdles world record-holder will look to claim the 100m hurdles record as well.
Sydney McLaughlin will be joined by the likes of Allyson Felix and Omar McLeod at Penn Relays
Another athlete who will feature at the event is Allyson Felix. The Olympic legend will participate in the 300-meter race. Since she has announced her plans to retire after this season, this event will be one of her final races in her career.
Rio 2016 gold medalist Omar McLeod, a participant at the zenith of his career, will take part in the 110-meter hurdles. He will be joined by Eagles‘ Devon Allen in what will be a delight for fans tuning in to watch the 110m hurdles event.

The competition will also witness the 2022 World Indoor Championships 800m gold medalist Ajeé Wilson; she has been attending the event since high school. Additionally, Athing Mu will make her debut at the Penn Relays and compete in the 600-meter event.

States and countries taking part at Penn Relays 2022
The competition was halted for two years owing to the pandemic. However, with such capable sportspersons taking part in 2022, it goes without saying that the Penn Relays 2022 may pan out to be momentous in every respect.
While teams from 33 states in the US will take part at the Penn Relays this year, five other countries will also send their teams to the competition. These countries are Jamaica, Bahamas, Guyana, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad and Tobago.

The Toyota-sponsored meet commences on April 28 at the historical Franklin Field; the events will conclude on April 30.
