Back in 2019, in an interview with NBC Sports, Lance Armstrong discussed his only regret in his career. He was trying to move on from the biggest scandal in sports history. He also realized that it was his call, and he was solely responsible for the act.

The biggest regret of Lance Armstrong

Lance Armstrong once admitted that PED, which is also known as a performance-enhancing drug, ruined his life after his cycling career.

“I’m the one who made the decision to do what I did,” Armstrong said and continued, “I didn’t want to go home man I was gonna stay.” Winning was his only way, as Armstrong described. For him, going home was him giving up.

“That’s when you say – I either fly back to Plano, Texas and do and not know what you’re gonna do or do you walk over to the gun store,” Armstrong said and continued, “And I walk to the gun store so I don’t want to go home.”

Armstrong was aware of getting a knife in a gunfight, so he thrived for the best option. He did use PEDs to enhance his performance, and he wasn’t caught for a long time.

The evidence of his doping was verified in 2012 by the United States Anti-Doping Agency. As the use of PEDs is banned in competitive sports, all his titles were also taken away from him.
