“They Know Who You Are?”: NFL Star Jonathan Owens Didn’t Realize Simone Biles Gymnastics Dominance Until a Public Incident Gave Him a Reality Check Once

Gymnast queen Simone Biles highlighted her talent every time she performed. The athlete is popular for her achievements, titles, awards, and personality, of course. Nevertheless, her fiancé Jonathan Owens had minimum to no idea about her fandom and popularity in the nation. 

The couple started dating only during the period when everyone was locked inside their homes. Therefore, when they met after the pandemic, the two had much new information to share. 

Biles: The big name went unnoticed

It was March 2020 when the couple met online and decided to establish something meaningful together. Five months later, they took to Instagram and announced their relationship by posting a lovely picture of themselves. Moreover, the two officially committed to each other and got engaged this February. 

Nevertheless, what’s surprising is that Owens was unaware of Biles’ significance in the world of sports. Initially, the Texans’ safety refused to believe that she was famous, despite the millions of followers on her Instagram profile. This misconception continued until the day he saw one of her Uber Eats advertisements. 

Another instance was when they went out for ice cream and fans yelped after noticing Biles. That was when Owens could estimate her fame and prominence.

“Oh my God!” fans shouted. “It’s Simone Biles!”

“They know who you are?” a surprised Owens said.

“I’ve been telling you!” said the Olympic champion. “A lot of people know who I am!”

Competing at the elite level and bagging seven Olympics medals, is no child’s play. It needs one to be hardworking and dedicated to their goal. Simone Biles talked about her ring

The gymnast has added four gold, one silver, and two bronze Olympic medals to her collection. Did Owens’ engagement ring, consisting of an oval-shaped diamond, surpass her other possessions? 

“It’s definitely my most prized possession now and I’m always wearing it,” said Biles in an interview about the ring. “I had to wash my hair the other day, and I took it off just in case I didn’t know if it was supposed to get caught or anything.”
