The Cycling legend, Lance Armstrong, faced a tragic ending to his career. In 2012, doping charges did not cost him just his Tour de France titles, but almost everything he achieved in his iconic career. He lost his money, stardom, fame, trust of millions of fans. Even his immense contribution to society got overshadowed by the drug charges.

Lance Armstrong launched the ‘Livestrong’ foundation in 2003 to provide support for people affected by cancer. The motive of the organization was to improve the lives of cancer survivors and those affected by cancer. But the drug charges on the face of the charity trust coasted them huge losses. As a result, Lance had to step down from the chairmanship of the Livestrong. But the Lance found alternate ways to serve humanity, that too just by sitting at home.

Lance’s New Way of Helping Cancer Patients
Lance used to generate funds for Livestrong through bike rides and events. But after Livestrong distanced themselves from him, the legend found other ways to make patients smile. In an interview with NBC back in 2019, Lance told that he is still a part of the cancer community. He further added that his boundaries may have been limited, but his goal hasn’t. “The extent of my work at the cancer community is me and my iPhone”, he said.

Lance’s new way of contribution is to record a personal short video for a particular cancer patient to cheer them up. “I grab my phone and I record a video,” he added. The 51-year-old that this happens “too often” but he feels great to contribute to the noble cause.
Lance Armstrong Expressed his feeling about the End of his Association with Livestrong
Although it’s been almost a decade since this incident. It has been almost a decade, but a few years back, Lance himself expressed his feeling about the decision. The legend expressed that he did not like the decision of the company completely put him off the picture. He said, “I don’t think it was the right decision”. The foundation did exceptionally well and was getting momentum under his chairmanship.

Cycling legend Lance Armstrong was the face of the trust and made those yellow bands a symbol of Livestrong. The trust generated nearly 500 million dollars in funds and save millions of lives. As a founding member and the driving force, he felt that people still associated him with Livestrong. He said, “We can’t separate”.
