If you’re a collegiate wrestling fan, chances are, you are also keeping a close eye on AJ Ferrari. The 2021 NNCAA champ’s return has been one of the most talked about topics in the country, but a final verdict on the matter remains an elusive thing. While Iowa is the most commonly speculated program most fans believed would likely be the choice of the collegiate star to wind up at for his final years of eligibility, new developments and hints are keeping fans on their toes.

AJ Ferrari’s care has been a rollercoaster ride, to say the least. From being at the helm of things to being cast into the pit after last year’s Soldier Salute debacle, AJ and the limelight have never been too far away. And now, as fans wait to see where the wind takes him, he seems to have a few suggestions himself.

Ferrari took to Instagram hours ago to show off how he’d look in the Northern Colorado Bears uniform. “Mr. Fast⚡️Twitch©️🗣️“6️⃣6️⃣5️⃣ Pound Deadlift Baby‼️” to ➡️ The University of Northern Colorado Bears?” wrote the star as the caption of the post while sharing two images of himself in the pristine white jersey. With that, Ferrari might be looking to join hands with the emphatic Andrew Alirez to make sure his remaining collegiate years are spent in the company of the giants.

Only about a week ago, Ferrari also shared his final message for the Hawkeyes, making it clear that the black and golden stripes won’t be seen on him again in the future, and now, with the latest suggestion, Ferrari might look to finalize the deal and jump back into the action soon.

While Ferrari has been associated with the Hawkeyes for a long time, training in Iowa’s gym whenever he got the opportunity, the authorities have stayed quiet about his future with the school. With Iowa being one of the country’s best wrestling programs, his addition to the roster would be beneficial for both AJ and the NCAA powerhouse. Their silence even prompted Ferrari to scout possibilities in other domains.

What fate has planned for AJ Ferrari?

For a long time, AJ dropped subtle hints about moving over to the world of MMA as the next step of his professional career. His social media handles are also filled with posts and updates about how he’s joined hands with MMA stars and US Marines to train for the popular sport. And yet, even his debut in the octagon hasn’t panned out yet and fans are still in the dark about what Ferrari might be planning to update his resume further.

On top of that, many also debated the possibility of AJ moving back to OSU. With Olympic gold medalist David Taylor leading the Cowboys, it would be a great opportunity for Ferrari to learn from the best and pick things up, right from where he left them. However, nothing seems to be an official statement, and Ferrari’s future remains shrouded in mystery. If AJ does end up in the ranks of the Colorado Bears, he will have to fight his way to secure his place as a regular opener for the squad in the 197lb weight class, with wrestlers like Max Shaw and Claud Lautt standing in his way.
