The UFC 311 is trending among the sport’s enthusiasts as it would host a major bout between Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan, a rematch from their previous encounter. There are also other famous bouts to be held, such as the match between Jailton Almeida and Serghei Spivac, which is also something that MMA fans are waiting on.

Overall, this giveaway is a great initiative taken by Cormier, not only to increase the anticipation of UFC 311 but also to support the local wrestlers with the funding received from the registrations. Showering such a huge amount of support for young wrestlers is nothing new for the man who owns his own wrestling club in Gilroy. The 45-year-old has found himself in the same seat as UFC’s top commentators, such as Joe Rogan and Jon Anik. However, once he went out of the octagon and debuted as a commentator for NCAA wrestling. While he expected this endeavor to go well, it turned out to be the opposite, as he received a huge backlash on this transition from the fans. And at a certain point, Daniel Cormier lost his cool and immediately announced himself to back out of this position, stating, “Guys I’m out. This will be my last time doing the NCAA tournament. Continue to do things the same way and stay wrestling that hasn’t changed since the 40’s. I told the general public to watch a guy told me he’d rather tear his eyes out than watch. So enjoy. I’ll finish tonight and I’m out !”

He was simply done with the constant negativity he faced from the community and was direct about his final decision. However, one fan asked him a question comparing the NCAA wrestling fans’ criticism to MMA fans’ criticism, to which he simply replied, stating, “I get paid a lot there lol.” Surely, there’s negativity in MMA too, but he’s focused on valuing the positive aspect of the sport.
