The six-time wrestling world champion is stacking up achievements ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024. Jordan Burroughs started his international career at 74 kg. He won the gold at the London Olympics 2012 in the same division. But after the loss at the 2020 Olympic trials, he moved up the weight class. Since 79 kg is no longer the Olympic weight division, the wrestler had to come back at 74 kg to compete at the Olympics.

After the successful weight cut, the second challenge Jordan had to face was ‘The Kunaev International’ in Kazakhstan. Which he conquered with the golden colors. The challenges are not over yet for the wrestler. He will compete in the domestic trials in 2024 before the Paris Olympics. Trying to overcome the defeat of the 2020 Olympic trials, Jordan will look forward to standing at the top of the podium at Champ de Mars in Paris 2024. For now, Jordan is back at the Pennsylvania Regional Training Center, his den since 2021.

Coming back to the training center, he shared some thoughts about it. Pennsylvania RTC posted the video on their X account where Jordan Burroughs shared his thoughts about the training center, which he has been a member of since 2021, he said, ?The Pennsylvania Regional Center is to me a set of values, standards, ideals, self-mastery and of excellence. Operating with grace under pressure, and also empowering the community in the process of extending ourselves to be the very best of the world. It?s a special brotherhood that we have here and the goal is to be the best wrestler in the world and also help empower the community.?

Jordan Burroughs was back at the PRTC after his successful run at the Kunaev International in Kazakhstan. It was the first time since the 2020 Olympic trials that he wrestled at 74 kg. Being one of the key prospects for golden glory at the Paris Olympics, Jordan sure did not disappoint with his performance.

Coming back and winning at 74kg

Wrestling again at 74 kg, Burroughs looked sharp throughout the tournament. Before the Olympics in 2024, the tournament helped him test himself at the lower weight. Effectively using his blast double and changing levels, he could outscore his four opponents by 43-7 count. This included the 15-4 win in the finals against Syrvaz Talgat of Kazakhstan.

??For his first time at this weight since 2021, I believe Jordan did an excellent job making weight, recovering, refueling, and competing at the highest level. His energy, motion, and speed were impressive. He scored lots of points in all of his matches and many points in par terre, which is what blows matches wide open,? said Brandon Slay, the coach of PRTC.?

Jordan Burroughs will be training at the Pennsylvania Regional Training Centre for the Paris Olympics 2024. Taking up challenges after challenges. Jordan is one of the most decorated wrestlers in the country and with his training at the PRTC and guidance of coach Brandon Slay, he will be looking forward to ending his career with a glorious gold at the Paris Olympics 2024.
