The Oklahoma Norman duals last weekend were a big success for a Bakersfield wrestler to emerge in prominence. Donning a 25-straight collegiate match winning streak already, Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunner sophomore wrestler AJ Ferrari is no stranger on the mat when it comes to giving back-to-back wins. After a major stint in OSU Cowboys, the wrestler is undertaking a new journey with the Bakersfield donning a blue jersey.

Ferrari’s comeback as a former NCAA champion after a three-year gap has raised several doubts about his credibility among fans. However, overcoming this, the Bakersfield wrestler is coming out quite strong this season after a highlighting 5-0 record against Nick Stemmet. Giving out a strong message over the pondering concerns, Ferrari makes another milestone that comes as a big win for Bakersfield.

AJ Ferrari takes the third win for Bakersfield

For Ferrari, the comeback wasn’t easy. Amid the doubt, the wrestler emerged crafting a name for himself along with his other achievements of this year. This Christmas Eve, the Bakersfield wrestler took away the spotlight on getting recognized as Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week. The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunner shares the exciting news on social media, on their official Twitter account, stating, “AJ Ferrari is the Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week!

Claiming such a promising achievement, the honur comes as the third one of the season for Bakersfield, also the second in a week. “For the 3rd time this season, and the 2nd time in as many weeks, a Roadrunner has earned the conference’s weekly honour!

The No.1 country-ranked 197-pound wrestler and 35-1 all-time, AJ Ferrari, had four out of ten major wins with Cowboys against ranked opponents, including the highlighting event of a 4-2 win over Wyoming No. 5 player Stephen Buchanan. In his last season, 2021-22, the wrestler ended his career with a 10-0 score that included seven wins through scoring bonus points. Posing a win by 4-2 over No. 6, Nino Bonaccorsi gave him his first NCAA individual title at the NCAA Championships. Soon after the Cowboys journey ended, Ferrari led the decision to commit in Iowa, which soon took over a major turn, landing him with Cal State Bakersfield instead.

Adding another win to his professional career, AJ Ferrari, donning major accolades, is also gaining some concerns over his recent win. Besides gaining honors and title wins, the wrestler has been gaining immense criticism over social media.

Fans are coming out with negative comments

Negativity doesn’t seem to be leaving Bakersfield wrestler AJ Ferrari. The July 5, 2022 case of a protection order was issued against him which still now holds relevance among fans today. After getting released from the Oklahoma State wrestling team due to the case, Ferrari took a rest, which followed his three-year leave, but the wrestler made his comeback. The recent win, however, is now receiving quite a controversy in links to his 2022 case.

A fan begins his statement by congratulating Ferrari on his Pac-12 honor, which follows him tagging not as a wrestler but as a r*****. “Congratulations to the Pac-12 r***** of the week,” the statements, however, come as a big dishonor for the Bakersfield wrestler. Ferrari’s Pac-12 honor comes with respect to his dual wins against wrestlers like David Harper and Bradley Hill, others giving out his 5-0 wins in the season.

Another fan came with his gritting comment, stating the availability of any local jails that could take him for the case. “Do you have local prisons that will take him?” Disappointed over him, the fan, however, wants strict actions to be taken against the wrestler, pleading with the local jails to take him under custody. The protective order filed by a woman based in Stillwater led to several accusations made against him at the time he was with the OSU Cowboys.

Questions about his character were also highlighted by a fan commenting on the win. “Character matters” For the fan, the character of the wrestler specifically here matters in terms of the sports industry he is representing along with the overall reflection of him among the people. The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunner, with his No.1 country ranking, comes as a big one achieved by any wrestler in the wrestling community. This, however, puts a question on the decision made in favor of him.

Stating directly on his character, a fan calls him out as “R*****“. Giving such a tag to his name indeed comes as quite a degradation of self-personality. With no proven cause given out on the matter against him, the people have already started tagging him as the accused, which remains the case even now.

As for another fan, the comment unexpectedly came in support of the wrestler. “War Ferrari! Great job!!!” The fan, however, describes his win as a sign of an upcoming war amid the ongoing controversy of his case. The fan also shares their excitement in congratulating the wrestler on the big honor achieved.

With people calling him out as a rap–t, his attorney, who denied the reality of the case, was later backed up by the Stillwater Police Department pleading Ferrari not guilty. Improving on his innocence to his fans since then, AJ Ferrari’s professional career, apart from the negativity, carries prominence as the country’s No.1 wrestler and goes ahead with the next season coming soon.
