Amin Mirzazadeh, a 25-year-old Iranian wrestler, won gold in the 130 kg weight class by defeating Riza Kayaalp, a four-time world champion. Mirzazadeh only needed six seconds to win in the end. The contestants went from using brute force to employing complex tactics in their fight. The United World Wrestling posted a picture on their X account and captioned it “AMIN MIRZAZADEH (followed by Iran Flag) is the new king (crown emoji) at 130kg. He brings down four-time world champ Riza KAYAALP (followed by the Turkey Flag)with a late stepout and caution to win the World Championships at Greco-Roman 130kg 2-2. Soon after the fight, Mirzazadeh said to UWW ?Right after last year?s World Championships where I won the silver medal, after about two weeks, I started training to achieve this gold medal,? He continued,??I?m happy that I got the result for my efforts and was able to win this gold medal.?. This was his Mirzazadeh last fight and he had a journey to remember during this year’s event.

Amin Mirzazadeh’s championship journey
In his first round of the fight, he grappled with his Brazilian opponent, Eduard Soghomonyan. Next, he crushed down Mykhailo Vyshnyvetskyi from Ukraine. Then he got the chance to proceed with his quarterfinal round. In that round, he had to tussle with his Lithuanian rival Romas Fridrikas and he attained victory with a counter-attack move.
Mirzazadeh moved forward in his rounds by downing Cuban contestant Oscar Pino Hinds. And, finally, in his last bout, he quenched his thirst for victory by defeating Riza Kayaalp in his finishing encounter. Amin is ready to fight for the upcoming Olympics and bring accolades for his country. ?I?ll try my best to improve day by day to be able to shine for my country in the next competitions, be a message of happiness for my people, and be able to win a gold medal,? he added. ?And also I hope to be able to win a gold medal in the upcoming Olympics.? This was his confident message, which he shared with his countrymen.
