Burroughs paid respect to his mentors and promised to carry forward their mission of preparing the next generation of pro wrestlers. He wrote an Instagram post that read, ?My coaches were always the most influential men in my life. Along with my Dad, they pushed me, and helped mold me into a man. It was always a team effort at every level, and a willingness to unify to share the work of helping elevate the athlete.”

Burroughs also stated that the main focus behind starting his academy was to create a safe environment to build competitive men and women of integrity. Recently, the academy got together with Yale Street Wrestling Club for a joint training session. In the Instagram post to mark the occasion, Burroughs wrote, ?We?re thankful for our friends from @yalestreetwrestling for joining us this weekend in a joint training day of excellence and improvement?. However, this was not the first time that Jordan Burroughs had an impact on a young athlete.

Jordan Burroughs has encountered many losses throughout his wrestling journey. In a recent interview with Olympics.com, he said, “I cried every time I lost”. Now, he has acquired the mental acuity and passed it on to his eldest son, Beacon. The nine-year-old showcased his learnings by staying calm after a harrowing defeat at a championship game.

This was because his father advised him to soak in the feeling of the loss and use it as fuel for the next match. For his trainees at the academy, Jordan Burroughs has a message of unity. He said, ?If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together?. This has resonated with them and taught them a valuable life lesson.
