David Taylor never shies away from standing atop the podium via his great prowess on the mat. Following suit, the 2023 wrestling season turned out to be an outstanding one for David Taylor as he added more honors to his already impressive resume. The Big Ten is the hardest and most competitive collegiate wrestling conference in the country. Being so excited, David Taylor posted a video on his Instagram story with fantastic preparation. Despite all the adversities, Taylor can be “finally” seen super excited in his latest Big 10 championship video. He will be facing Ohio State’s Kollin Moore, who won the Big Ten championship in 2018.

As the team trials are the last big challenge in front of the wrestlers, Penn State icon David Taylor is shouldering responsibilities in style. He has teamed up with former NCAA rival Kyle Dake for the Olympics Trials preparation. Recently, he was seen working out in the gym with his equipment and was in a good mood. Just 7 weeks away from the Olympic trials, Taylor was practising with a smile on his face. This showed that he is ready to take on the best US wrestlers in the team trials at the familiar Bryce Jordan Center in April.

In the 2016 Olympics, Taylor tasted defeat at the hands of his opponent before he got a chance to clinch a much-coveted Olympic gold medal. However, he proved his doubters wrong and came back as strong as ever. Taylor was under a lot of pressure at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, but he stayed strong and defeated every single opponent in front of him. He defeated his arch-rival, Iranian wrestler Hassan Yazdani on his way to the gold medal.

Even though Taylor is a 2-time NCAA Champion, 3x World Champion, and an Olympic gold medalist, his journey to the trials has been anything but straightforward. Competing in the fiercely contested men’s 86 kg freestyle division, Taylor faces formidable opponents, including Chance Marsteller, who has already secured a spot in the trials. Time will tell if David Taylor can successfully navigate the difficult obstacles in his path and earn a spot among the best competitors headed for Paris in 2024.
