Flowrestling uploaded a small clip from the interview on their Instagram account with the caption, “Back in May Stevan Micic said he wanted to wrestle Russia, Albania and Japan – he got what he asked for and made the most of it!”.

The “Golden Boy” from Serbia spoke about his astonishment when he realized later that he had fought against the wrestlers from these three countries “in that order”. Micic was looking for redemption for last year’s loss of the gold. Besides personal gratification, the 27-year-old wrestling superstar had a more noble cause in mind.

Stevan Micic had made history by winning the first-ever wrestling freestyle title for Serbia. This way, he paid tribute to his home country and repaid the people for their support and faith in him.
