The World’s top wrestlers are competing in the World Wrestling Championships 2023 in the Serbian capital, Belgrade. The wrestling event is planned from 16 to 24 September. This event will offer a seat in the 90 quotas of the Paris Olympics 2024. The USA team had brought the highest number of medals in the 2022 World Championships with seven gold, six silver, and two bronze medals. So far, they are doing well to serve their hunger for the 2024 Olympics. The competition is tough. The battle is fierce and the team is ferocious to bring accolades to their nation.

Some of the top US players are Vito Arujau, Yianni Diakomihalis, Kyle Dake, Kyle Synder, Zahid Valencia, Zane Richards, Chance Marsteller, and Helen Maroulis. Vito Arujau won Gold in the 61 kg category. He ended the thrilling match by defeating and knocking off the former Russian World Champion Abasgadzi Magomadov with a score of 10-9. He is also the trainer and friend of Yianni Diakomihalis. Yianni swelling with pride and honor, celebrated his victory.

For Yianni, friends and family come prior to the self. After Vito’s victory, he with much exhilaration cheered for his friend. The post went viral on social media handles. On Twitter, the post mentioned, Love these shots.” In the same post, it was written about Yianni that he “wants nothing more than to achieve the same dream just achieved, and instead of dwelling/focusing on that in this moment, he’s celebrating his friend & training partner, and you can see the genuine happiness!”

The 24-year wrestler, Yianni is truly a supporter and a great friend. Despite focusing on himself and his matches, he came out to celebrate with Vito. Both share a great bond and, by this gesture, Yianni has won many hearts. With full excitement and energy, he patted his friend’s back. In his recent post on X handle he mentioned, “Couldn’t be happier for my man… he puts the work in and is well overdue for the success he’s been seeing this year.” Vito deserved all this praise, as the wrestling battle for which he fought wasn’t an easy go. The last match with Abasgadzi Magomadov was really a tough one.

Vito Arujau Claims Gold in 2023 Wrestling World Championship

Vito applied all his skills and techniques to win his last battle with Abasgadzi. That was an amazing win in the 61 kg category with Arujau Prevailing 10-9. The battle went back and forth creating suspense and excitement among the watchers. Both the contestant’s pace was at their peak. They confronted each other with their best potential.

When just a minute was left in hand, Arujao gained all his strength and reached one more point through a step out. Then, he gave up two points. That was really disappointing for his fans but just with 10 seconds left, Magomodev failed in his attempt to combat and register another tally. This allowed Arujau to collect his points. Hence he won the match and finally received the 61kg gold medal.

It would be really great to see the 2023 Senior World Wrestling Champion Arujao participate in the upcoming French Olympics in 2024 in Paris. Also, the four-time New York state champion, Diakomihalis with his win streak of 210 matches is also supporting Arujao. Diakomihalis is one of only two American wrestlers to win two world championships at the cadet level.
