Support goes a long way. And it’s always in the hard times that we get to know who our friends are. And in games, we see that often, but the US President has now lured attention and all love from the community for his support towards the players and that they stand by him during their most challenging times. Donald Trump has been on a meeting spree with the wrestlers, and amongst them, we saw the spectacle of resilience and power, as an Oklahoma State University Cowboys star who suffered a severe brain injury back in 2020 got a hand of grace from the president.
The president recently graced the NCAA Wrestling Championships for the second time in the last 3 years. We witnessed some of the beautiful candid moments that he shared with the heavyweight wrestlers there, and he also took the moment to congratulate almost all the winning wrestlers. And in one of such, we saw him greeting Senator Markwayne Mullin’s son, Jim. Jim Mullin suffered a traumatic brain injury in a wrestling accident. After the accident, Jim was in rehab in California. Markwayne, earlier speaking about it, expressed grief and disappointment at how the incident delayed his son’s career. Jim, after suffering a brain injury, lost his motor skills and also had short-term memory loss.
And with the grandiosity of NCAA wrestling finals, the senator also revealed how Donald Trump helped his son through his toughest times. Markwayne referred to Trump as a friend, showing that he was the person to call him right after the incident.

And the Oklahoma Senator, Markwayne Mullin, took no time to celebrate. He took to X to convey his gratitude to the president, saying, “When I say @POTUS is a friend, I don’t just mean a political ally. When Jim suffered a life-threatening traumatic brain injury from a wrestling accident in 2020, our world stopped. In one day, our boy went from being an elite HS athlete to a third-grade learning level. He lost his motor skills. President Trump was one of the first people to call us. He offered to help, and called every week to make sure our boy was okay. He even came out to see Jim. This is the side of Trump the media won’t tell you. Our story isn’t unique. Against all odds, Jim made a full recovery, and he’s now wrestling at @OSUAthletics. I tell you this to understand how special it was to be with POTUS at the @NCAAWrestling finals with Christie, and our sons Jim, Andrew, and Jayce. America is lucky to have President Trump at the helm.”

Donald Trump’s inclination towards NCAA is just taking a step higher
Right before he headed out, he told the reporters, “We’re going to the big fight,” adding, “I’ve always supported the wrestlers.” He was at the finals with his advisor, Elon Musk. Upon arriving, Markwayne Mullin greeted him at the Philadelphia airport. Videos have been keeping the internet all fiery and pumped up with Trump visibly chanting ‘USA.’ After the match, he stayed there to meet and greet the wrestlers. Praising some of them separately, he mentioned Carter Starocci as his favorite.

Last November, he showed up at a UFC fight between Bo Nickal and Paul Craig, and after the Penn State star dominated in the octagon, Donald Trump hit him up for a round of golf! And with him attending the NCAA Wrestling Finals, it’s enough to say that Trump is all triumphant for sports.
Building relationships with the NCAA champions makes the scenario better for the game and the champions. As earlier, we saw AJ Ferrari greeting the president and revealing on X that he urged the president to make ‘wrestling great again.’ Such graceful visits might uplift the game’s standards and its status on a global scale.
