US freestyle wrestler Adeline Gray is best known for her zestful performance at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Apart from clinching the silver medal in the event, she got admiration from many, including the big names in the world of wrеstling. After becoming a mother of twins, the American wrestling sensation made a stellar comeback in 2023.

Adeline Gray returned to Belgrade for the World Wrestling Championships in the 76kg weight class and left the audience in awe with her dynamic combatting skills. She is once again making headlines because of her performance in the first Ranking Series event of the United World of the Olympic year at the Zagreb Open, but instead of being happy, she has pledged to work harder.

Adeline Gray reflects on bronze victory

Six-time world wrestling champion, Adeline Gray took to Instagram recently to share her feelings after securing bronze at the World Wrestling Ranking Tournament. Gray posted a picture of herself keeping the bronze medal, earned in the 76kg category, before her eyes and the caption reads ”New eye patch or new bronze medal either way not what I came for but happy to come home with hardware”

Adeline Gray further wrote ”I wanted to feel 50X better than I did at Worlds and I didn’t. I saw it in Terry’s eyes when I asked him how I felt and he said fine. I may need to do a little more to be ready. Which honestly is a bummer because I have been enjoying a lot of my training lately and that is not normal.”

Besides that, the 32-year-old wrestling champion also delighted her fans with her great thought and vision. ”The great news is I feel healthy and motivated to put in the work. Even through the thoughts that pop up asking why am I putting myself through this I found ways to refocus and win 6 min matches,’’ she added further.

Besides that, Adeline Gray also expressed her feelings about not having her support system there. As the two-time Olympian Adeline has her birthday on 15 Jan, so she concluded her post with thoughts of birthday celebrations with her kids after getting over the jet lag.

A dominating match to seal the win

2020 Olympic silver medalist scored 3-0 in the bronze-medal round at the Zagreb Open by destroying 2022 European silver medalist Pauline Lecarpentier. In the first period of the match, Pauline tried hard to come top of the podium, but she failed to score the points, and Gray skillfully led the match by scoring 2-0 at the break.

She clinched victory with a 12-2 technical fall in the repechage to make it to the medal round. Alongside Kennedy Blades, both U.S. athletes secured the third position, helping to solidify their standings in wrestling.
