There is nobody in the wrestling community who hasn’t come across the name Bo Bassett in recent times. May it be the ever-so-controversial college recruitment list or the undefeated high-school wrestling career, Bo is in his prime, and the world has no qualms about admitting it. And, his most recent technique show against Wyoming Seminary has sealed his position at the top despite his NCAA decisions being up in the air! So, what happened at the recent showdown?

At the Bishop McCort vs Wyoming Seminary showdown, Bo Bassett stepped on the mat in the 150-pound weight class. His opponent? Wyoming’s Wyatt Fry. It was not long before Bo completely took over and won a 21-5 technical fall. While his wins remain impressive, that’s not the only reason that Bo has managed to build a following! So what else could it be?

It is, in fact, the fire that burns bright within him that seems to have gotten the world rooting for him. In an interview with Anton Payne on Fighting for Success podcast, that fire burned brighter than ever as Bo went on to say, “I’ve never loved wrestling more.” However, to him, wrestling doesn’t stand in isolation! His connection to wrestling runs deeper than just technique. To Bo, wrestling is where faith, family, and pushing beyond setbacks all intersect. Confused?

Well, wrestling has always been in Bo Bassett’s blood. However, in the past year, Bo saw his love for wrestling take an entirely new form. As Bo himself puts it, “And then when I really found out that I loved it (wrestling) was when I came to my faith, and the last year has been the most powerful for me for sure.” And it is with that shift that some of his greatest performances emerged! Bo went on to win the Super 32 Championships and Powerade Championship and even had Ironman wins. But that’s not all!

To top it all off, Bo also became the top college recruit for 2026. However, faith did not just bring him wins, apparently it changed many other things. “My family’s changed, families around us have changed…I feel like it’s become the center of my life, and I’ve never loved wrestling more…I think faith and wrestling tie together so well,” added Bo. Evidently, faith has brought Bo and his family solace and many things inexplicable. And the point cannot be argued as Bo, now, stands on a 100-0 career record!

Yes, that’s right. Bo Bassett, with all his high-school wins, has a 100-0 record. However, despite the wins, Bo is not resting on his laurels. Instead, he is looking at the larger picture. So much so that he went on to say, “Wrestling is going in an amazing direction. And Bo is a part of that very evolution. But the biggest question that remains unanswered is about Bo’s future!

While hitting a 100-win record is a big deal, it seems to be a rather small milestone in the larger map of Bo Bassett. Bo’s Spencer Lee inspired college recruitment process that started early last year with 80 schools, is still ‘ongoing’. However, from an overwhelming 80, the list has dropped to a salvageable 12. While 12 seems like a decent number of schools, all the names on it make it tougher than ever. So which are the names that remain? Both the big names from Iowa (Iowa and Iowa State) are still on the list. But that’s not all!

This is followed by Michigan, Ohio State, Pitt-Johnstown, Rutgers, and even Virginia Tech. If that wasn’t enough. The coach and prodigy-turned-coach schools are also on the list. Yes, that’s right. Cael Sanderson’s Penn State is also very much still on the list. And last but not least, Sanderson’s prodigy turned coach, David Taylor’s Oklahoma State, is on the list as well. Both PSU and OSU, to top it all off, have had a rather great NCAA season this year, making Bo Bassett’s choice tougher than ever.
