Yes, the Bishop McCort High School wrestler always credits his faith for his success in life and never fails to acknowledge the ones he has his belief in.
During the post-match interview after winning his third Powerade Wrestling Tournament, Bassett was asked about the social media influence, to which he replied, “I think if there is, it’s taken away by my faith. I wear Jesus on my chest because I wholeheartedly got there only for him. I know with the Lord, anything is possible, and whatever happens is a part of God’s plan, and I’m ready for it. And I know that I work extremely hard, so if I win, great, and if I don’t, then I’m gonna keep working hard.”
Bassett posted this video on his Instagram, and the 17-year-old’s intentions were clear enough. His faith has pushed him far in not only his wrestling career but in life, and he trusts the divine. He’s positive about the occurrences but never shies away from working on his skills, honing himself to be a better version. Yes, he’s a hard worker, and by keeping his head up, he keeps a positive mentality on the mat.

Talking to WIN Magazine, he revealed, stating, “Bo does a really good job with time management. I mean, he does a good job of setting time aside for it, and I mean, you guys saw, I mean, he’s still wrestling pretty darn good, so, you know, if his wrestling is not dropping, I mean, to me, I think, you know, I think it’s a great thing; I think he’s changing a sport; I think, you know, a lot of little kids, a lot of new parents are looking up to him and learning a lot from him, and I know what if he was a little kid and, you know, somebody was doing that when he was younger, he would’ve been locked into it.”
Indeed, times have changed, and it’s something Bill acknowledges. He doesn’t mind his son getting his followers up on social media and trying to become a sensation in the online world, and why so?
