That’s because recently he’s been in the news for his return to wrestling after being released from his past commitments, and many fans didn’t like that. Despite coming back to wrestling, he is also interested in MMA.

Seeing Steveson’s past decisions—nothing of that sort is new—entering a new sport, then leaving it for some reason. Being a two-time NCAA champion and winner of multiple Dan Hodge Trophies, Steveson has earned respect, fame, and everything one desires. But do you know why Steveson left WWE?

After leaving his wrestling career behind and joining WWE, Steveson never thought to juggle between different sports. After a stimulus stint at WWE, his journey ended soon, though he signed a contract of 3 years with the NFL afterward but couldn’t get through it either. However, nothing could stop him from returning to his roots, and recently he announced his return to the wrestling world for the final season. What must be the reason behind the release from WWE? Let Steveson himself answer that for you.

As Steveson is in the spotlight in the wrestling community, he’s been giving many interviews, and the recent one is with ‘The Ariel Helwani Show’ on YouTube. When Ariel Helwani asked about what happened between him and WWE, Steveson replied, “When I got to WWE, everything was great, and everything went great the whole time; it just wasn’t the right time after I signed with WWE.” He further explained, “I tried to go back to wrestling, and you know you can’t consistently do the one foot in, one foot out of everything.” Steveson might have wanted to get back to his wrestling world, but it contradicts because he joined the NFL afterward.

The Olympic medalist doesn’t have any bad feelings for Triple H, chief content officer of WWE; they even exchanged a good conversation when they met backstage at a UFC event. However, Steveson said, “I did see um Paul, Triple H, or Hunter whatever people call him nowadays at the UFC event,” and these words say something else. It seems he is somewhere angry with Triple H, and he might be the reason behind Steveson’s exit; you never know what exactly happens behind the scenes.

Steveson always wants to be in the competition, and such small road bumps are part of it. Stressing again about the exit from WWE, he reiterated if it was his decision or if WWE asked him to leave. Replying to the question, Steveson said, “I’m not sure.”
