Months before the 2024-25 NCAA season began, Bo Bassett provided a comprehensive list of universities he wished to visit. Why so? The NCAA has a huge list of colleges that a high schooler can choose to advance to college, but he wanted to make sure that he chooses the right one for him. Indeed, day by day he kept on making those campus visits, and in the end, he only ended up keeping a few in his eyes, like Iowa State, OSU, Ohio State, and a few more.

Bassett knows what he’s capable of, and he knows that there’s a lot of demand for him in the wrestling scene. He will be a big prospect the moment he graduates from high school, and there’s already a ton of anticipation and expectations on his shoulders. But did it affect his high school wrestling season with Bishop McCort? Absolutely not!

Celebrating these wins, Bassett took to his official X profile, stating, “Blessed to be a 3x Powerade, Super 32 & Ironman Champion! Grateful for every moment, every challenge, and every victory & defeat. This journey has been filled with hard work, faith, and incredible support. The season’s far from over.” As always, he did credit his hard work and effort throughout the season, but he hasn’t ignored his faith and the support that he has gotten until now.

Fans couldn’t be happier for him

Many wrestling fans dream of witnessing a high schooler transform into an incredible NCAA athlete. And Bo Bassett is giving them an exact opportunity to witness history in the upcoming months. Many are excited about his future, as one fan stated, “Keep grinding, Bo. Jobs not done but you’re enjoying the ride! Blessings upon blessings  for the remainder of the season.” Hinting that he will join OSU in the future, one fan wrote, “Go Pokes.” Similarly, another fan was just excited for him, stating, “Congratulations LG!!!!”

However, why are there so many people wanting him to join OSU out of all the colleges? Isn’t it simple? The current OSU is led by David Taylor. The Olympic champion came into the team with big expectations, and did he deliver? Yes, he did! Prior to the holiday break, the team was dominating every single match on the mat, and every single Cowboy was overcoming their opponents and even trying different techniques to get the maximum points. Taylor has a strict mindset, but that’s what’s pushing the Cowboys to the top of the podium.

Considering all the positives, Bassett will be a great fit at OSU. However, the decision is still pending from his side, but he had a great time visiting the campus a few weeks earlier. There are also fans who want him to join other colleges, as this comment read, “Congrats young man! Keep grinding!  Can’t wait to watch you at #PennState.” Another fan stated, “Aye congrats Bo! WE ARE proud, Keep grinding.”

Wherever Bo will land in terms of college will be all owing to his own wish. Until then, the community will remain filled with speculation, given his status as one of the most debated wrestlers in the NCAA scene. However, this fame will never distract him from being one of the top wrestlers in the current high school season.
