Bo Bassett’s college recruiting process has been anything but dull. Inspired by Spencer Lee, he started his process with a list of 80 colleges. And now the ever-so-reducing list stands at 13. And no, Bo has no intention of stopping his process midway. This “all-in” strategy hasn’t just set him apart. It has kept wrestling fans excited about potential colleges! However, one college has been cut from the list as per the latest updates.
The college to follow Princeton in bidding adieu just a week after the last list is Nebraska. After a break from college visits that were full of Bo shenanigans, including his YouTube adventures with WWE star Bobby Lashley, Bo is back at it in full swing. As per Bo’s list, he is looking for a college that can give him culture, training resources, top-tier coaching, and overall support. As the hunt continued, he stopped by Iowa between Oct 25-27 and Penn State between Nov 1-3. Then he moved to Columbus for his third visit; but boy-oh-boy, nobody saw this one college come out with such a strong appeal for Bo!

On November 8th, Bo Bassett stepped into the Ohio State territory. And if Bo’s Instagram is anything to go by, Buckeyes might have just won his heart! Bo took it to Instagram and posted a series of pictures with him donning the Ohio State singlet. And guess what? Bo wasn’t alone this time. He was joined by his parents, Karissa and Wilhelm, plus his wrestling brother, Kegan. Bo looks right at home in the pictures! But that’s not all; Ohio had a barrage of greatness awaiting the #1 recruit.
Ohio State brought out their best to entice Bo Bassett. The post saw some of Ohio State’s former wrestlers and current coaches, including Logan Stieber, J. Jaggers, and Bo Jordan. The visit started with Coach Tom Ryan’s early-morning workouts, where Bo and his brothers got right into the mix with Ohio State’s RTC athletes. Bo got a real taste of the Buckeyes’ wrestling culture, sitting down with their entire resource team, covering everything from academics to training, mindset, and physical support. Bo was impressed!

Bo went on to write, “Great weekend in Columbus and hanging out with the Buckeye Nation. I really enjoyed Ohio State.” But Ohio State did not stop with just that! They followed in the footsteps of Iowa. Remember when Spencer Lee gifted Bo the tickets to their football match? An opportunity that gave Bo the chance to experience the Haweyes wave! Well, Ohio has taken a page from the Iowa playbook. Bo also headed out to watch Ohio State’s match. He even joined the team for a game-night cookout, where he got to see how close-knit the team was. But the dance is far from over; this month alone, Bo has two more colleges to visit!
Bo Bassett is far from done; two more visits this month!
After Cael Sanderson’s Penn State and Spencer Lee shenanigans at Iowa, Bo Bassett is next going to hit Blacksburg. He will be visiting Virginia Tech there between November 15 and 17. There, he will be meeting Jimmy Mullins, the redshirt freshman wrestler who had a 15-4 record for the 2023-2024 season. He might also get a chance to train with wrestlers like Bryce Andonian and Caleb Henson. But that’s not all that makes this visit exciting!

While Ohio State gave him football tickets, Virginia Tech might just offer front-row seats to the home opener at Cassell Coliseum. That’s right, Bo’s visit dates coincide with the iconic matches. It is set to be a showdown between the No. 7 Hokies and the No. 8 Tigers. It is bound to be a thrilling match and might just give Virginia an edge. But that’s not all; Bo Bassett will be making another visit between November 22-24.
The last visit before the month ends is to Oklahoma State. Now, here David Taylor, who just won the World Championship Bronze, awaits Bo. Taylor has been Bo’s idol for a long time, and lately, he has even been doing some great things with the OKC program. Even adding new wrestlers to the roster, with the latest addition being Wyatt Hendrickson. At OKC, Bo has everything he is searching for in his ideal college. Yet, the decision remains “uncommitted” from Bo. The world will have to simply wait for Bo Bassett to finish his list in style and pick his college.
