Bo Bassett is undoubtedly the biggest name on recruitment lists at present. And he has been in the headlines for quite some time with his unconventional section process. Coming down from 80 schools, his ever-so-reducing list has finally reached 14 schools, with Priceton being the latest cut. However, this time, Bo is not in the news for his recruitment. While keeping the world on its toes with colleges, Bo is indulging in some fun!
Bo is taking the downtime to balance workouts and some casual indulgences. The most recent one was the appearance on the Phenoms to Legends channel on YouTube. And as destiny would have it, his episode was with none other than the legend himself, Bobby Lashley! This was no ordinary episode. Imagine Bo Bassett, the #1 2024 recruit, training with one of WWE’s biggest legends! It happened, and guess what? Bobby was caught slacking!

As the world knows by now, Bobby Lashley is no stranger to pushing his body to its limit. But despite being one of the MMA greatest and wrestling legend, Bobby could not keep up with Bo Bassett. When Bobby stepped into Bo’s regimen, the intensity took him by surprise. Just an hour into the workout, he went on to say, “I’m drenched. But this is a great workout. It kind of brings me back to my amateur wrestling days when we had to push it this hard.” But as Bobby continued to struggle, it became clear that Bo’s workouts were designed to push the limits of endurance itself.
Bobby Lashley, despite having strength and experience, found himself coming up for air multiple times during the sessions. But Bo? Well, he made it all look easy. So easy that Bobby couldn’t help but say, “He’s a beast. He’s my partner in all this stuff. He’s making it look easy, and I’m kind of struggling a little bit, but it’s okay—I still have a little bit left in me.” Now that’s a contrast nobody saw coming!

Did Bo Bassett just prove he's tougher than WWE's Bobby Lashley? What does this mean for wrestling?
Have an interesting take?
Ideally, when one looks at Bobby, you see a powerful frame and, of course, his two long tenures at WWE. But even that did not come close to Bo’s workout. It was not just the intensity but also how it was paced. Every move had a purpose, and there was no time to rest. Eventually, Bobby went on to say, “I know what he’s trying to do here. He’s trying to get me real tired, see? I’m beaten now, so I’m most susceptible to takedowns.” Takedowns? What’s Bobby talking about?
The Bo-Bobby face-off that the world did not know it so desperately needed!
You read that right, folks! In the episode, Bo Bassett goes head-to-head against the legend himself. And boy-oh-boy, was it surprising! Bobby Lashley might be a seasoned pro, but even he cannot beat the Machine Gun Mindset! After a fast-paced match, Bo Bassett was the one who came out on top. Meanwhile, Bobby was left catching his breath. As he panted and reflected, Bobby playfully said, “I mean, I don’t think anybody was keeping score, but I kept scoring.” While the match itself impressed Bobby, he had something else to say!

Bobby Lashley had just witnessed the greatness of Bo. So much so that Bobby went on to say, “I found out what that machine gun mentality is. His pacing, his movement… I’ve been out of here for a while, but it’s a different level…..and Bo is at least at the highest level possible.” Now that’s a huge praise coming from a legend! So, what is this mindset all about?
As Bo puts it, “machine gun mindset is in a wrestling match and even in life too—giving yourself chances, taking shots.” Looks like that is exactly the principle Bo Bassett is living by. One win to another, one college to another, the future of Bo lies wide open with opportunities. The only thing that the world truly knows about Bo’s future now is it can expect great things from him.
