The Oklahoma State wrestling team, ranked at #3, has had a season to remember with the Magic Man heading them. However, on January 12th they go up against the fifth-ranked NC State team. Both the teams are coming in with their ranked star athletes. It is an especially momentous occasion for the Cowboys! They are heading into the duals with a 7-0 record despite it being the first year for head coach David Taylor. However, that’s not what all the noise is about!
The upcoming duals are also a chance for Taylor to keep the Cowboys’ legacy alive. As it was only last year that OSU took down NC State 22-12 under the previous head coach, John Smith. Additionally, it is a chance for the Magic Man to keep the magic alive with the undefeated streak. However, a recent video from the Cowboys makes the world wonder if they are as confident as their winning streak!

The Cowboys page, not so long ago, posted a video where Coach David Taylor was seen asking for support! Has the #5 ranked NC State managed to rattle the Magic Man? In the video, Taylor goes on to say, “They’ve been a really household name over the last handful of years. They have a good dual team.”
Guess the pressure is on for the Cowboys! In fact, Taylor went on to add, “We’re still trending to break an intense record for Oklahoma State.” But that’s not all that Taylor had to say!
In the video, David Taylor is seen making a plea to the Oklahoma State fans. In Taylor’s words, “Can you challenge the people of Oklahoma to come support us? We need your support.” It’s interesting coming from a team that has an undefeated streak this season. Or is it a stroke of humility as they come from the 43-6 win over Air Force?

“It’s a big duel, and we need your support. As we move forward, we need your support,” reiterated the Magic Man. To see if it was a stroke of humility coming from confidence, let’s take a look at the roster!
Magic Man to arrive with a roster to be feared!
While the plea for support might send a mixed message, don’t be fooled; Coach David Taylor will be arriving with a team of stars. The Cowboys squad includes No. 2 Troy Spratley at 125 pounds, No. 4 Tagen Jamison at 141 pounds, and No. 12 Caleb Fish at 157 pounds. Spratley alone has had an 11-1 record this season. Meanwhile, Jamison, after the bloody incident last duel, is ready as ever to return to the mat. The roster, however, doesn’t end there!

The potential that Oklahoma State is bringing is limitless. The duals will also see Dean Hamiti and Dustin Plott. Meanwhile, names like Reece Witcraft or Cael Hughes at 133 pounds are still on the fence. But the one key matchup is to happen between Spratley and NC State’s No. 11 Vince Robinson. Additionally, let’s not forget that there’s also Wyatt Hendrickson at 285 pounds, who could bring in bonus points for OSU. But that’s not all!

Dean Hamiti could also potentially bring in bonus points. He has, after all, already taken down Virginia Tech’s No. 4 Lennox Wolak this season. So, him going up against NC State’s No. 19 Matty Singleton could be a cakewalk. Additionally, Hendrickson has had an equally ruthless season. With him, pinning 9 of his 11 foes, including NC State’s Isaac Trumble, whom he pinned at the Cliff Keen Invitational. Overall, Coach David Taylor and his Cowboys squad are in a comfortable position to continue the undefeated streak!
