Oklahoma State has been giving fans a whole lot to cheer about since the 2024-25 NCAA season began. Their last duel against the wrestlers of Air Force ended in a 43-6 win. And to add on, they won with seven bonus-point wins, including five technical falls and two pins. Part of the undefeated streak credit goes to their head coach, David Taylor, who, despite missing a key wrestler during the Air Force duel, managed to keep the winning going! So what’s next for OSU?

Well, the OSU Cowboys next go up against #5 ranked NC State. However, this duel has been riddled with suspense. The matchup that was supposed to go down on Sunday was rescheduled to January 13th. The reason? Well, it was said that the duel is being postponed due to bad weather. Due to travel delays caused by inclement weather, the start time for Oklahoma State’s dual against NC State may be delayed. However, the extra wait has gotten fans gushing with anticipation. And the biggest question looming is, will the missing wrestler from the Air Force showdown be back for this key duel?

The #3 ranked Wyatt Hendrickson was missing from the Air Force showdown. He decided to opt out of facing his former team. Hendrickson is, after all, a proud active-duty member of the Air Force. However, he went on to say, “I’ll still be there supporting the Cowboys and the young men that support this great country.” Despite his absence, the Cowboys showed no signs of weakness as Konner Doucet stepped in for him and won 2-1. But now, since Air Force dual is behind Hendrickson, will he return?

Well, the answer is yes. Wyatt Hendrickson is stepping back onto the mats with an 11-0 record. A record that includes five pins and four technical falls. However, his next opponent is no easy one. Hendrickson will be going up against NC State’s Isaac Trumble, ranked No. 4 at 285 lbs. Trumble is no slouch on the mat! He, in fact, is a U23 Champion.

Yet, Hendrickson’s ability to pin nine of his 11 opponents this season shows that the odds might just still be in his favor. Additionally, Hendrickson now has the David Taylor magic backing him up. Now, only one question remains unanswered. Will the Taylor squad be able to maintain their undefeated streak? The Cowboys roster might just have the answers!

Wyatt Hendrickson is not the only one to watch out for!

As the 7-0 undefeated streak suggests, the OSU Cowboys are not just about Hendrickson. Ranked wrestlers like No. 2 Troy Spratley (125 lbs) and No. 4 Tagen Jamison (141 lbs) will also be seen taking the mat. But boy, oh boy, is the showdown looking tough! Spratley will be going up against NC State’s Vince Robinson, who happens to be quite the underdog.

Robinson has had only one loss this season! And 141 lbs, Jamison will go up against Tyler Tracy. This, however, might be an easy one for Jamison. But that’s not all that is brewing! No. 3 Dean Hamiti Jr. (174 lbs) and No. 3 Dustin Plott (184 lbs), both with bonus-point rates over 77%, will be going up against formidable wrestlers. Hamiti will be wrestling Matty Singleton, who’s ranked #19 in 174 lbs. Meanwhile, Plott will be up against #11-ranked Dylan Fishback. However, David Taylor and his prodigies scoring over 30 points in every duel this season suggests this might just go in OSU’s favor.
