Proper infrastructure can go a long way toward helping a team be successful. From Penn State to OSU, the USA’s biggest and most triumphant wrestling programs boast incredible training facilities to bring out the fullest potential of the athletes. However, it looks like Broken Arrows Public School in Oklahoma is also taking a few notes from David Taylor‘s books and tweaking them as per their requirements. And the fans can barely contain their excitement.

Right after the Olympic gold medalist Taylor became the new head coach for OSU, he roped in a massive $40 million investment to overhaul the Cowboys’ training facility. But he wasn’t the only one thinking about getting an upgrade as the state’s public school has recently proved, and the results are making the community’s jaws sweep the floors.

Wrestling journalist Seth Duckworth, aka “MatBoy”, recently shared a glimpse of Broken Arrow’s training facility via an X post from February 7. “Broken Arrow might have the biggest wrestling room in the world. Unbelievable,” reads the caption of the social media update, as the accompanying video shows a staggering 16 wrestling mats spread across 3 rooms.

The Broken Arrow Public School has numerous state championships under its belt, and the new training facility could help to stack the trophy cabinet in even greater numbers in the coming days. In the X video, the narrator also mentions, “The girls seems like no. 2 in the country right now.” They are. Thanks to their wins in Wonder Women in Missouri, the Aphra Female in Colorado, and other competitions. They stand just below the 2024 Prep School national champions, Wyoming Seminary. Not a small feat for a program that only started in 2019.

That being said, with the kind of numbers we are talking as far as the wrestling facility at BA and the larger event center are concerned, the success makes sense.

The facility is part of the newly constructed 114,000 SF Broken Arrow Public Schools Event Center, which cost the school $36 million. For obvious reasons, the community went wild by the scenes. “It’s insane!” commented one fan, who quite possibly, like many of us, hasn’t witnessed such an incredible wrestling setup in a high school. Others were equally impressed and quickly hopped onto the platform to share their admiration as well.

The Nittany Lions, often hailed as the country’s top NCAA wrestling program at the moment, hone their skills at the Lorenzo Wrestling Complex. That facility has a little more than 4 mats for the athletes to train. Taking that into account, it’s easy to understand the magnitude of Broken Arrow’s training complex and why the fans are going haywire about its sprawling spaces. “Damn, that is big!” another fan sounded their astonishment under Duckworth’s social media update, while another had to note their admiration with the comment, “It’s beautiful.

BA has lifted the Oklahoma state trophy a remarkable 11 times, making it one of the most successful high schools in the Sooner State. Obviously, some wrestling fans think that the state’s biggest school deserves such a massive facility, especially considering how it has flourished with what it had before. “They’re good tho. Makes sense tp have a huge gym for the biggest school in the state,” stated one fan. “Their dedication to athletics at BA is incredible,” lauded another.

When the Iowa Hawkeyes unveiled their plans to expand the wrestling facility, many fans weren’t sold on the idea. “Just a fancy building,” and more digs came flying at Tom Brands’ squad. However, Broken Arrow’s new training space seems to have made the fans stand in awe. “That’s better than any college room I’ve seen in person,” one fan even went on to note that the high school might give the NCAA programs a run for their money’s worth!
