Let’s admit that it’s the world of sports that indeed has some wholesome moments to offer. It’s not always about the heated rivalries, the frustrations, and the disappointments. Sometimes it’s about celebrating the connections that sport brings. Which brings us to the Bassett family, where Bo Bassett isn’t the only cause for celebration. With his NCAA future locked in with the Hawkeyes, it looks like wrestling talent simply runs deep in this family, with the younger brother now following in Bo’s footsteps.
With Keegan Bassett earning a spot on the 2025 U17 Men’s (Cadet) World Team, it’s indeed a big moment for the family. But no one was prouder than Bo Bassett, with his heartfelt reaction captured in video by Andrew Gasber of DrewBlogs Media. “I don’t even know if words can explain,” said Bassett with a shake of his head. “Going to worlds, it’s crazy. I’m so proud of him. He worked so hard, he’s unbelievable… so, wow. It’s crazy, Keegan’s the man.”
The caption of the post perfectly captured Bassett’s emotional response to his brother’s big achievement: “Happy tears ! @bo.bassett is THE proudest big brother in the WORLD! Bo might not have finished the way he wanted to. But @keegan.bassett JUST MADE A WORLD TEAM!!!!” And how could he not be in tears, right? After all, Bassett has been the first one to see him grow and reach this point in his career. And his words? Truly heartwarming.
