Bo Bassett recently appeared on the “Wrestling Changed My Life (Wrestling Podcast)“ hosted by Ryan Warner. The interview was very candid, and Bassett talked about so many things, from the U20 World Championship to changing mindset, coaches, training, going to college, etc. But what captured our attention the most was the part where he talked about what he fears the most.
Bassett lives by the philosophy, “You only live once.” So, he wants to make the best of his life and feels the same for his wrestling career as well. Thus, it’s very natural for him to have fear of not doing enough for his sporting career. “I think that’s the scariest thing about my, my wrestling career is like when I’m done, will I have any regrets? And I don’t want any, you know.”
When he talks about regrets, he does not mean winning or losing or even achieving goals. Rather, what he wants is to do everything so that he can be at a point in his life where he can say, “I did everything I possibly could.” What an idea to live by! For Bo Bassett, wrestling is his “purpose,” and so he wants to “wrestle as hard as” he can. Truly, he is giving his all to his wrestling, and his achievements have proved it time and again.
But what keeps him motivated? Is it fame? Is it winning? Maybe or maybe not. In the words of the young wrestler, it’s his faith that holds him accountable and keeps him rolling even on tough days. On those days, all he repeats to himself is, “This is what I’m made to do, this is what I love to do, and I’m doing things that I won’t regret.”

Well, he has come down to his top 10 colleges. Moreover, if we believe the speculations floating around, he may have already finalized his college by now. In the last week of November, he visited Oklahoma State University and shared the same on Instagram. Many believe OSU is the one Bassett is looking for. Why would they not? given the fact that David Taylor, head coach at OSU, has brought some major changes, making the Cowboys dominant in the season opener.
But all this remains speculation until the young star wrestler confirms it himself. Do you think OSU is ‘the college’ for him?
