Delivering consistent top performances in big events has given a lot of confidence to Bo Bassett. He has also been the talk of the wrestling community, owing to his numerous university visits for his future collegiate career. In short, he’s completely engaged with structuring his talent, as he knows about his potential and what he can deliver whenever given the opportunity.
After winning this third consecutive Ironman Wrestling title with utter dominance, he revealed his love for the sport in the post-match interview featured on GOhioCasts on YouTube, stating, “I think it’s cuz I love it. I love wrestling. Uh, I work really hard, so I live the way I wrestle. I feel like it’s not one of those things you can kind of just turn on and wrestle extremely hard and fast pace.”
For a long time, Bassett has been engaged in wrestling, and he also wrestles for the high school, where his father is a head coach. He wanted to clarify that it’s the drive that makes him achieve bigger things in the sport, and he will be continuing to do it until he’s officially done as a wrestler. Furthermore, he highlighted the consistency that gives him the edge over his competitors, stating, “It’s, uh, something you got to do every single day, and, uh, I kind of love when the guys want to come out and try to match the pace and bang because, uh, I know they don’t live that way, uh, and so I’m excited when people try to wrestle really hard, and that guy came out hard, so a lot of respect for him, but it’s a lifestyle.”

All of these have contributed to him becoming one of the most anticipated high school wrestlers out there. However, he also likes the way his fellow wrestlers try to go all out on him on the mat, but he still comes out on top because he’s more polished than his competitors. Despite all of his stints, he appreciates the efforts that his competitors put in while wrestling him, as it overall makes the bout interesting. The way Bo Bassett rose through the opponents in the qualifying rounds of the Ironman Wrestling Tournament gave the audience a glance at what was about to come. Eventually, he did win the title, but before that, he opened up about his performances, stating, “Yeah, I think it is something that we do 24/7 in a week. I think I live that way. I’m constantly going extremely hard in training that way, so when I go out on that mat, it’s kind of like a nature and just represents my faith.”
The prodigy is aware of his potential and why he is one of the most anticipated wrestlers out there. He believes in himself but doesn’t let overconfidence shadow his performances in major events. Surely, he’s already eyeing a top college, but he’s still determined to end his high school career with a string of epic bouts. Given that his father coaches his team, Bassett was confident in their ability to dominate the season solely through determination and talent. “We think this is probably the biggest event of the year-end season, so we’re ready to go. This is our NCAA, and we’re ready to sprint,” said Bassett of the goals that he shares with his team, as later on they went on to win the tournament.
