The 18-year-old school wrestler was hosted by Penn State as his journey to explore and understand the wrestling program continues. He went to Penn State for an official visit with Jax Forrest and Sam Herring from Friday through Sunday. In ‘Inner Circle’s newsletter, Bo Bassett wrote, “Having those guys around made the trip even better.” It seems he really enjoyed his time at Penn State and even enjoyed a volleyball match.
Bassett’s recent visit to Penn State has fueled excitement amidst his search for his next destination. It seems like Penn State is the no. 1 choice for Bassett to decide his future college admission. When asked about his visit to Penn State, Bassett said, “I have spent a lot of time training at Penn State and at NLWC, but never got to see how much fun it really is. I know a lot of the wrestlers from training there and wrestling with them over the years, and five of them were on my World Team in Spain. PSU was great and checked the boxes as well. One thing is for sure: these trips don’t make things easier and 100% make things so hard.”

The Super 32 Champion has his priorities already set in his mind. Without relieving much about his future decisions, Bo Bassett has hinted at what he sees to take his final decision. Reflecting on future choices, he said, “Making a decision is going to be one of the hardest things to do, and that is why I plan to take my time and see as much as I can. Once I pick it, I want it to be my home for a long time.” Bassett’s past visits to Iowa and Michigan also impacted positively on him, as their programs, coaches, and wrestlers are amazing.

Bassett is one of the brightest stars in the school wrestling world. At the age of 18, he has a list of achievements, including the U17 World Championship title in 2021 and a bronze medal at the 2024 U20 World Championship, among others.
Bo Bassett is a member of the prestigious Young Guns Wrestling Club and has earned spots in freestyle and Greco-Roman 2021 Cadet World Team in the 45 kg weight category.

He has not only done wonders on the wrestling mat but also secured a 4.0 GPA in school with involvement in community service. The Johnstown, Pennsylvania, native has also become Ironman Champion in 2022 and 8x PAW Champion.
With a knack for adapting new techniques and strategies as per his opponent’s skills. It is to be seen which wrestling program Bo Bassett will choose and also which program will earn the privilege of training this rising star.
