Wrestling fans are divided in their opinions

The dominance of Bo Bassett isn’t a rare sight anymore, as anytime the wrestler has arrived on the mat, he has absolutely destroyed his opponents. Looking at this bout, one fan stated, “Kid thought he had a chance in the first 10 seconds, and then reality set in.” Another fan was in awe of the technique of Bassett, stating, “I’ve seen a lot about this kid in my YouTube feed, but never watched because I’m more interested in college and international. Wow was this kid next level fast and technical!” Similarly, another fan wrote, “Bo dominates whenever he takes the mat…poor opponent. LOL.”

The community has labeled many of Bassett’s bouts as one-sided because he rarely faces competition on the mat. Indeed, he’s that strong, considering he’s just 17. But do we have any particular example? Let’s go back to the Ironman Wrestling Tournament, where he participated in the 144 lbs division and found himself against Sunnyside’s Carlos Stanton, which he won with a 22-4 technical fall in 2:23.

Every time Bassett has been on the mat, he has been a formidable force, but many also have criticism towards him, as this online user wrote, “For someone like him who could have easily pinned his opponent, there was no need to gloat and drag it over for so long. Just put him out of his misery man, why you gotta be such a show-off all the time.” Many even blame his fame, as one comment read, “Man, the way this Bo guy is pinning his rivals just shows how arrogant brat he is.”

For now, Bassett has a long time before he heads into his college adventure, as he will be focused on his high school bouts. And fans couldn’t wait for him to display another dominant performance the next time he lands on the mat.
