Jordan Burroughs started his international wrestling career at 74 kg. He dominated the division by clinching every golden glory he could get his hand on. By May 2012, he was standing at the highest podium. He won gold at the London Olympics. While he was dominating at world championships and titles, Burroughs was struggling to qualify for the Olympics so he decided to move up the weight class and started wrestling at 79 kg.

Burroughs has not conquered this tournament. However, he put the speculations to rest with three wins to storm through the final. Can he brush off the rust?
The Kunaev D.A. tournament came as a stop before the ultimate Paris Olympics 2024. Something that Burroughs has been looking forward to for a while. He said after the match, “I’m adjusting to the new weight class, again,” Burroughs said after his semifinal. “I have not been at 74kg for three years. I have got a lot of rust that I have to knock off. I have a lot of things working against me but I feel good.” Burroughs has proved himself to be the most successful wrestler of all time. But the road is still challenging Burroughs still have to beat Kyle Dake at the Olympic trials. It remains to be seen if can wrestle past all the odds.
