The CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners wrestling team took a much-needed break and a nice stroll in Washington, D.C. After all, they deserve a pat on their backs for their improved performances and two wins to their name in the Fourth Annual Chippewa Challenge hosted by the American University Eagles. So, we understand their need for some time to blow off steam and energize before the other challenges that lie ahead for them.
The entire CSU Bakersfield wrestling team, along with their star performer AJ Ferrari, took a trip around town to visit the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the White House, and the Washington Monument. It was a day of American history for the college-level athletes who barely get breaks, what with tournaments and exams around the corner.
The official Instagram handles of CSU Bakersfield wrestling and athletics posted a few pictures captioned, “Always grateful for each opportunity to compete. Extra grateful this weekend to have a little extra family time to check out our nation’s capital.” from the day outing. AJ Ferrari also took to his Instagram handle to post stories of the excursion with bolded lyrics to the song, ‘Answer to No One,’ by Colt Ford and JJ Lawhorn.

AJ Ferrari’s White House hero

AJ Ferrari, amidst everything that makes him the talk, is an ardent supporter of the current President of the United States, Donald Trump, and he has never shied away from voicing his admiration for the leader. Back in 2020, when Joe Biden was elected as the 46th president of the country, fellow athlete and former Olympic gold medallist Jordan Burroughs took to X, formerly Twitter, to express his awe and respect for the then president-elect.
AJ Ferrari, who was a budding wrestler himself and making his mark in the intercollegiate matches and the NCAA Championships, retorted to Burroughs post.
His response and the ‘#maga’ (Make America Great Again) give away a lot about his political stance as a Trump supporter. Considering Ferrari’s devout standing, we infer that this trip to the White House, where his icon resides, historic monuments, and memorials has had a profound impact on him. His patriotism shines through in his recent story and the lyrics he chose to display corroborate the same.

At the sports front, AJ Ferrari’s victory against the CMU Chippewas and the team’s all-rounded standing provides a glimmer of hope for the Roadrunners fans as they look forward to seeing the Runners’ make spectacular comebacks in their upcoming match against the Oregon State Beavers in Oregon on the 2nd of February 2025 at the Pac-12 slate. If they can keep up their current momentum, we might be seeing more of the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners and AJ Ferrari in the NCAA Championships for this season and also, possibly, in the Big West. One can only hope for the best!
