The official Twitter account of the Olympics has posted a video in which Nathan Chen, Adam Rippon, and Meryl Davis are paying tribute to the legend, Yuzuru Hanyu, on his remarkable contribution to figure skating. All they could say was how exceptional this man was on the ice rink.

The Beijing Olympic gold medalist, Nathan Chen, showed great admiration for his Japanese rival and said,Yuzuru Hanyu is the ‘perfect’ icon of figure skating, someone I have looked up to since he was in juniors nailing triple axels when I was barely doing triples.”

Yuzuru Hanyu is a legend

The two-time Olympic gold medalist is one of the best figure skaters ever. He is the only one who has come close enough to perform the quad axel to near perfection, in the Japanese National Championship 2021 and his attempt at the jump in Beijing is far better than anyone can ever hope for.

Surely, you cannot replace the disappointment of losing with anything, but Yuzuru should be proud of himself like the rest of the world for what he has given to the sport. Undoubtedly, his legacy will live on and so will his achievements and glory.
