The 2022 Kentucky Derby saw a lot of big-name celebrities in attendance. Along with star athletes like David Beckham, Michael Phelps, and Michael Jordan were music artists like DJ Drama, Drake, and Jack Harlow. Of course, their recent collaboration on Harlow’s album well foreshadowed Jack Harlow and Drake’s appearance at the Derby.

Harlow released his new album “Come Home the Kids Miss You”. Here, Drake features in a song named “Churchill Downs”, which also happens to be the place where the Derby has run since its inception in 1875.
The Jack Harlow interview featuring Drake
At the Derby, NBC Sports reporters interviewed Jack Harlow, which was unexpectedly interrupted by Drake. Hilariously, while Harlow is talking to the reporter, Drake wanders into the frame, prompting Harlow to acknowledge his presence with, “There’s a guy next to you.”

Drake made it known that he was only there as an observer, to support his friend and listen to the conversation.“I just had to show up. I’m so proud of this guy.” Pretty quickly, Drake made it known that he was not entirely sober. “And we’re drunk,” he exclaimed. However, he was quick to backtrack and clarify that he was the only one inebriated, and Harlow was sober.

After, the reporters asked the duo whether they had a horse in the race and placed any bets. To this Harlow responded, “We were forced to make a move on the one and only Happy Jack. He’s really giving a good description of how I feel right now. It’s sad there wasn’t a Happy Aubrey, we’d run that too.”
Unfortunately for them, Rich Strike took home the winner’s purse, entering at 80-1 odds in a major upset. On the other hand, Happy Jack finished in 14th place.

Drake’s reaction to the end of the interview
As the two music artists riffed with the reporters about the bets, Drake noticed the staff cued for them to wrap up the interview. But the rapper wasn’t having it. He was quick to interrupt the talk and ask them why they wanted to finish up already.
“You can’t give ‘em the wrap-it-up signal. What are you gonna cut to? What are you gonna cut to?” He added, “Like a shot of poorly manicured grass or something?”
