Morgan McCullough is one of America’s most prominently rising weightlifting talents. The weightlifter has displayed staunch technique and infinite grit in his discipline despite being just 20 years old. In fact, his recent feat at the 2023 Junior Pan American Championship saw him shattering several records.

America was more than prepared for the Pan American Championship with a brilliant pool of both fresh and established talent. Morgan McCullough has impressed everyone with his weightlifting prowess multiple times even before. But his Santiago performance left everyone open-mouthed as he shook both judges and previously set records. USA Weightlifting tweeted about the stellar achievement of McCullough as he broke through his own mold.

The tweet carried the caption, “Have yourself a DAY Morgan McCullough! 158 kg SN – New Junior Junior Pan American SN record. 196 kg CJ – Ties the Junior Junior Pan American CJ record. 354 kg Total – New Junior Pan American Games record.” The junior weightlifter showcased immense strength and technique as he pulled, snatched, and jerked some really heavy weights. The tweet also carried a video showcasing the American chalk up his hands before impressively lifting the heavy load above his head.
The 20-year-old finished sixth overall after his brilliant performance this year. Interestingly, McCullough had dazzled everyone with his performance during the previous iteration of the Junior Pan American Games as well. In fact, he had also made new personal records and won three medals as well.

Weightlifting star and his bulldozing 2022 performance
Morgan McCullough entered the 2022 Junior Pan Am Games in October last year and won everyone’s appreciation with three medals. McCullough won a bronze in snatch (150kg), a silver in clean and jerk (194kg), and an overall silver (344kg). USA Weightlifting had proudly posted about the happy news on its Facebook page along with a video of his exploits. The young weightlifter has been slowly pushing his numbers upwards for quite some time.

The 20-year-old trains under head coach Travis Mash as an important Mash Mafia Weightlifting team member. The Junior Pan Am star has consistently shown his talent ever since he was 14 years old. His training videos, along with coach Mash, always hinted at him breaking the Pan-American records. While he made new records, he would also look forward to snatching some medals along with his weights. US fans will root for their rising star as he will reach greater heights in further competitions.
