In a phenomenal development, Shaun White has qualified for his 5th Olympic Games on Saturday. He came 3rd at the LAAX Open Finals. This meant that he maintained his ranking, thereby grabbing a spot on the US Olympic Team.

This will be White’s 5th Olympic appearance, and he will be the most experienced snowboarder out there. White himself was delighted by the news and took to his social media to announce it.

White gears up for 5th Olympic appearance

The LAAX Open finals were held on Saturday in Switzerland. Participating in the LAAX Open was a last-minute decision for Shaun White, but it paid off.

White has now qualified for his 5th Olympic Games in Beijing. The athlete was clearly very excited about this and took to social media to express his happiness and gratitude.

By participating in the LAAX Open, White improved his points significantly, grabbing the final spot on the Team.

We’re going to China!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing night. I’m so thankful to be still putting down runs at this point in my career…,” posted White.

White has had a phenomenal 20-year career, and he thanked his friends, family, and fans who have been part of this journey with him. The athlete was overwhelmed, and rightly so because this will also be his last Olympic Games.

White celebrated with all his fellow athletes who qualified for Beijing 2022. The pro athlete is already a 3-time Olympic champion and now plans on getting a 4th Gold Medal.

The whole snowboarding community was super excited after Shaun White made it to the Team. This is because over the years White has proved time and again why he is the very best at the sport. It is safe to say he rightly deserved the spot.

Fans flooded White’s Twitter with congratulatory messages, wishing love and luck to the athlete.

I’m talking about Mountain Dew, baby,” commented a fan, referring to White’s famous lines.

A fan page also pointed out how White has overcome multiple injuries over the years to get to this point. In fact, until recently, Shaun White was also battling with Covid.

Moreover, Shaun White didn’t leave his selection up to the coaches but went ahead and rightfully earned his spot. The Winter Olympics will kick off on February 4th, and we wish the athlete all the luck.
