Tragedy struck the Water Polo community as a young Belen Jesuit Preparatory School student-athlete passed away in a devastating accident during the tournament that took place on Friday. It sent shockwaves to the fraternity and fans; soon after, the student’s father took to social media, breaking the news to the world, urging fans and well-wishers to send prayers and love for the family and the young athlete. The grief remains universal when you lose someone. But to lose your child, it definitely leaves a void that can’t be filled.

“Unfathomable loss of our beloved son,” as Mike Osuna mentioned taking it to Facebook. He shared beautiful, emotional photos with his son and the family, mourning the loss. He says, “It is with a heavy heart that we share the unfathomable loss of our beloved son, Lucas Michael Osuna aka Thor. In true superhero fashion, he embodied perseverance, determination, and overcoming all the obstacles life threw his way. In moments of tragedy, our 8N Family has proven to unite in prayer, compassion, faith, and above all, love.”  The South Florida community is now mourning the loss of the young man. However, it hasn’t yet been confirmed whether Lucas was actually competing at the very moment when he passed away. As per Daily Mail reports, the team, Miami Caps, initiated every possible way to save Lucas from the incident, but things got out of hand, and they couldn’t save him.

Mike Osuna also urged to keep the little boy in ‘thoughts’ and also wish for the family. He said, “We ask that you take a moment to hug your loved ones a little tighter and keep us in your thoughts.” That goes without saying. We lose a loved one, and we always wish, only if they could stay a minute more with us; but death remains inevitable, and when it knocks early, it gets you, it does! And we feel it in the nerves, what Mike Osuna feels for his beloved son here. We all hope the soul rests in peace.
