The LAAX Open finals on Saturday saw several athletes make it to the final teams for Bejing 2022. Amongst them was 3-time Olympic champion, Shaun White. White grabbed the bronze medal and confirmed his spot on the US team.
On the other hand, Chloe Kim won the women’s halfpipe. She had already confirmed her ticket to Beijing 2022. This will be Kim’s 2nd Olympic appearance, while White’s 5th.

Both of them were equally excited and White cheered Kim on as she went to the podium to get her well-deserved medal.
Shaun White is a Chloe Kim fan
While White has already got 3 Olympic Gold medals to his name, Kim is also not far behind. She won her first Olympic medal when she was just 17 years old.
This will be Shaun White’s 5th Olympic appearance and he looks to add a 4th medal to his tally. Meanwhile, this will be Kim’s 2nd Olympics and the 21-year-old is all geared up to get that Gold again.
On Saturday, Chloe Kim won the Gold medal at the women’s halfpipe event and White himself also did an impressive podium finish, grabbing 3rd place.

White took to his Instagram to share his happiness as he cheered Kim on when she went up to get her medal.
“Yeaaah Chloe,” cheered White as Kim went ahead to the podium. Kim also reposted the story, congratulating White as well.
Both Shaun White and Chloe Kim will proudly represent the USA in the upcoming Beijing Olympics 2022. While White has already announced that this will be his last Olympic Games, Kim meanwhile still has years of competing ahead of her.
White emotional after qualifying, thanks fans and family alike
This is the 5th and last time that Shaun White will proudly represent Team US in the Winter Olympics. The 3-time champion will be the most experienced player out there, and he hopes to get a medal.

After qualifying, White took to his social media to thank his family, friends, and fans for being with him through all these years. White has had an extraordinary career spanning over 20 years.
“Thank you to all my fans, friends, and family that have supported me for over 20 years!! I love you all!!” posted the 35-year-old.

The qualification of White was still in question until recently. However, the athlete decided at the last moment to go to the LAAX Open and increase his points. He did so and grabbed his rightful spot on the team.
